12 Hours in LA
The idea of travel has always captivated me. The pinnacle being the ability to go whenever and wherever. There's something about that ability to hop in a car or on a plane and simply be somewhere else, to escape the average day to something new. The one day trip is a tiny encapsulation of that feeling.
On a recent Monday, we put that plan into action. Without bags to check or long term parking to navigate, we arrived at SFO 30 minutes before our flight. We breezed through security and straight onto the plane as the sun began to rise.
The only planned stop for the day was the Getty Villa. Outside of that we were free to wander.
In all we ended up at the beach, the Getty Villa, Griffith Observatory and the LACMA. A chill day with plenty of time for a coffee at Intelligentsia in Venice and a leisurely lunch at Ray's and Stark Bar at LACMA. A respite from the routine was achieved.
